An eternal favorite.
This is an outstanding read that touches the emotions of the reader who meets three brothers who are trying to make it on their own after their parents died. It's difficult to make ends meet so Darry, the oldest, has two jobs. He gave up his dreams of college and a different life to support his younger siblings. Classified as greasers, they are part of a group of friends who "war" with those who have it all called the Socs but life has some bitter lessons for them all.
