This is one of the rare books in this series that doesn't revolve around Anita's need to have sex with multiple partners. She, Edward, Bernardo and Olaf get to play marshal in Tacoma Washington where a brutal serial killer (actually the Harlequin) is taking out lone weretigers. I was super excited to see a new Anita Blake book come out....and a full length one at that. In this installment, we see a huge plot point from past books resolved, and a bit uncerimoniously, at that. The Harliquin and Mommy Darkest have been terrorizing Anita and her loved one's for more than a year now, and at long last, Anita finally finds a way to defeat them all.

Another good book by Laurell although I was disappointed not to see any of Anita's regulars in this book. I love Jean Claude, Nataniel, Jason, Truth, Wicked and some of the others so I was surprised not to even get a glimpse of them in this book. I know some people have got tired of all the sex and stuff but that is what I have come to expect from Anita and when I don't get that it leaves me feeling not completely satisfied. ...more

I have not liked this series in a very long time but this book wasn't half bad. It was more action and mystery and the succubus thing was not drawn out and over killed as it has been in the past. I might try the next one...maybe... ...more
