I shouldn't have waited so long to read this book after finishing book 1. I had a difficult time remembering all the secondary characters. But luckily despite that I still enjoyed this book. What I did not enjoy was all the sound effects in the audiobook. They were loud and annoying and distracted from the narration. I could barely hear the narrator! The only thing the sound effects managed to do was give me a headache. If the narrator is good enough they can build suspense with just a change in

I decided to go back and re-read the early books of this series. Why? I don't know, in the mood for Anita I guess. :) I don't care what anyone says, I love this series. It's not perfect, Anita isn't the perfect heroine and all that, but I love it anyways.

The second book in the Anita Blake series. A zombie has gone rogue and is attacking families so the police call Anita in to help with the case. Anita also has to deal with Harold Gaynor who wants her to perform a human sacrifice to raise a very old zombie. The end of the book was exciting but it took a long time to for much of anything to happen. I think I'll continue the series but I'm not in a huge hurry to do so.
