I. Loved. This. Book. I rated it 5 stars for 2 reasons. 1. Excellent writing and 2. Brooks. Brooks gets all the stars. I freaking loved that man. I didn't really warm up to Liz/Abigail but I still liked her. She was a very strong, independent and capable heroine. Even though I didn't love her I still loved the fact that Brooks adored her. This was just a great book period. Highly recommended.

I usually really like NR romances but this one seemed so forced. Elizabeth was like an automaton, spouting facts and figures just like Temperance Brennan on Bones. She didn't know when a joke was a joke and took everything so literally. It took well over 50 pages to even get into the whole mafia/witness story and then Part I was over and Part II jumps 12 years and now we have Abigail (Elizabeth) who is a reclusive security expert who is socially inept and plain rude to everyone in the small town

Maybe it was just me or my mood but I found myself wishing a lot of this book had been cut out. And the ending felt very flat to me. Would love to be able to explain why I wasn't crazy about this but can't right now.
