When I go into a Sophie Kinsella book, I know I'm going to get hilarity, a few sappy moments, and a happy ending. I've read enough Kinsella to know that's it all of her books. That's one thing that I love about her.
When I found out she was writing a YA book, I was ALL over it. I knew it was going to be different than her adult books because it was for a difference audience and the main focus wasn't romance. I was ecstatic to read it but also nervous. I didn't know how it would turn out with the ...more

A young adult really amusing. I loved this family a bit strange, I would have loved to be part of it. It's the story of an English family with three children that tries to deal, in the best way, the big and small problems of everyday life. The story is narrated by Audrey, a girl of fourteen who, after a terrible episode of bullying, has begun to suffer from anxiety and panic attacks. The tenderness and sweetness of her little brother and a friend of her older brother will help her heal and start

I really love Sophie Kinsella but I had troubles connecting with this book. When a book has a name in the title you expect the book to be about this person. It was mostly about her brother and how he's addicted to this computer game... I liked the family dynamic and the mental health discussion. ...more

Full of charm and humour, Finding Audrey isn't just the story of a girl with an anxiety disorder, it's the story of her whole glorious family. The Mum vs. Frank plot was fantastically written, and little Felix always seemed to pop up at the perfect moment.
I thought Kinsella's writing of anxiety was spot-on, from the sudden irrational fears to the repeated "I just can't" and the desperate desire to be okay again.

OMG I so NEEDED to read this book!! This was a brilliantly hilarious read about parenting topics that I'm right now in the trenches with! Sophie Kinsella's use of humor is expertly done, just the right amount combined with realistic relevance, to showcase a typical, somewhat dysfunctional family (and actually pretty normal in many respects I'd say) dealing with kids struggling with anxiety and internet compulsion. The characters are really likeable, and the family's conversations/reactions were

Finding Audrey was written with a lovely light touch. What could have been a heavy and depressing book about bullying and it's after affects, was instead sensitive and funny.
