So going against most reviews, this book dragged on and on so for me that was a downfall. Also some of the language was just ugh shuck and klunk. About 60% of the way through this book it finally got a little interesting but still just dragged on and on. I only kept reading this book because it was supposedly so good from other reviews. Just not what I wanted I guess.

This story drew me in, and I wanted to found out what was going on. I liked Thomas who is the main character. The book reminds me some of "The Hunger Games". I found at times it was hard to put it down because there was so much going on and I just had to find out what! I wasn't totally surprised by the ending, because I knew there was two more books to go. I was caught by the premise and the mystery of the story, but boy - did I have to work at getting through the dialog, especially in the first 2/3rds of the book. Awkward and forced, Thomas' interactions with other characters are very rough draft and shallow. Things do start to smooth out towards the end of the book, and the premise stays intriguing, ...more
