An unexpected and slightly interesting twist around page 300 kept me from rating Caught 1 Star. I had too much trouble believing the storyline. I just could not suspend my disbelief. This is only the second book I've read by Harlan Coben, so the problem could lie at my feet. But how many times have I thrown a book screaming, "Harlan Coben, seriously? Really? You've. Got. To. Be. Kidding. Me!" My copy has fallen apart and now lies in the trash bin.

This story can be slow at times, but the ending is worth it. There are so many twists to the story that, like they said, "Nothing is what is seems." Beyond the twists, there are some great messages. One theme is forgiveness. Another talks about how easily the internet can be used to create false identities and stories about people. There is also a message about whether or not parents should host drinking parties for kids. The themes are all subtle but they add depth to the novel. It was definite ...more

The surprises kept coming and coming at the end, I listened to this on audiobook and had to keep playing parts over again to catch everything. I'm thinking this one although very good, may have been better if I read it and was able to digest everything over a longer period of time. Definitely will be checking out more books by this author. Probably reading it rather than listening to it. ...more
