Science fiction? A retelling of one of my favorite fairytales from when I was young? And an illness sweeping the world, seemingly without a cure? Oh goodness, that sounds like the trifecta when it comes to books tailored to me. But that's just the plot. Marissa Meyer topped all that off with characters and dialogue and wicked awesome writing to make this easily one of my favorite reads for the year.
