This book was amazing and I am going to go buy it because it is the kind of book I will definitely re-read! If you plan on reading it make sure you have the tissues handy.

I would love to see this made into a movie !

I don't throw around 5 stars much, but this was a really excellent read. Not only was it exciting and kept my interest, it had a very interesting theme centered on choices. What are we willing to do in horrific situations to save those we love? Set during WWII in France, it follows two sisters and what they do during the war. An excellent book. It has been on my TBR shelf for awhile. Why did I wait so long to read it? Looking forward to the movie out later this year.

By the end, I was not thinking that at all. And while the characters may have been one-dimensional in the beginning, people can be one-dimensional also. And they all changed and grew, as did the relationships between them, througho

The story of two sisters, Vianne and Isabelle, living in France during WWII. Isabelle decides to join the resistance and ends up living in Paris. Vianne meanwhile is left at home with her Daughter Sophie while her husband is in a POW camp. A German officer comes to stay with them. I don't know how much of the details of the German occupation of France were true. What drew me into the story was the story of the sisters. I disliked the device of making you try to guess which sister lived to tell t ...more
