This book was amazing and I am going to go buy it because it is the kind of book I will definitely re-read! If you plan on reading it make sure you have the tissues handy.
I would love to see this made into a movie !

Very good book.

I don't throw around 5 stars much, but this was a really excellent read. Not only was it exciting and kept my interest, it had a very interesting theme centered on choices. What are we willing to do in horrific situations to save those we love? Set during WWII in France, it follows two sisters and what they do during the war. Interesting to hear one of the characters mention a couple times that women are overlooked in war, they don't tell stories like the men, they are forgotten characters in wh

"The Nightingale," is my first Kristin Hannah book that I read, even though I have another of her books on my long TBR physical bookshelf.

The story of two sisters, Vianne and Isabelle, living in France during WWII. Isabelle decides to join the resistance and ends up living in Paris. Vianne meanwhile is left at home with her Daughter Sophie while her husband is in a POW camp. A German officer comes to stay with them. I don't know how much of the details of the German occupation of France were true. What drew me into the story was the story of the sisters. I disliked the device of making you try to guess which sister lived to tell t
