Lust is not romance.

Had this book not been saturated in sexual encounters, it would have been completely romantic. Guess it wasn’t the book for me.

A character said, “Get your mind out of the gutter.” Wish the author would have taken his own advice.

Content: sex scenes, profanity, alcohol, tobacco, expletives

The thing I loved about this book was the paintings thread. That was truly romantic. I just wish it hadn’t been buried in the lusty junk that disrupted my peace.

I know I have seen the movie a bit ago but it did not leave the impact that the novel did. (usually true for me with Nicholas Sparks books). I am glad I still read the book despite not loving the movie because I felt all the emotions. Such a good author.

Loved this story. Loved Ruth and Ira, their story was just so beautiful. Felt however that the whole story could have been done without the story of Luke and Sophie. It felt unnecessary and really didn't add anything to the overall story imho, with the exception of the end, even noting that I still feel that it could have been done without them. ...more
