I was afraid of being disappointed when I started this book, but it turns out that was just silly. It is an amazing story even if I'm still not sure if I like the hero or not (Nevada doesn't seem sure either). I do like Nevada and her family a lot. They stick to their principles no matter what.
Nevada is forced into returning Adam (a fire prime) to his family alive and expected to fail. But she is smart, has her family's help and will do almost anything to keep them safe.

Well deserved 5 solid stars!
Ever since two of my favorite series by other authors have ended, I have been looking for a new series with a strong female character and I believe I hit the jackpot with this book.
The combination of action, angst, romance, comedy was perfect. This book is more about character development so if you are looking for something hot and steamy, this is not it. I do believe they will get there eventually but I in the mean time, I am really enjoying getting to know the prim ...more

I love a woman who will go above and beyond to protect the people she loves. That is Nevada all the way.
This story has a strong heroine, who doesn't put up with crap from anyone. It is paranormal/urban fantasy at it's finest. I can't remember the last time that I read a book that was action packed and had me laughing out loud throughout. Add Conner "Mad" Rogan to the mix and it just ups the ante.
I think that Nevada's family stole a little bit of the show, and I hope that as the series progress ...more

Well, I should have known any book from Ilona Andrews would be excellent. This one had me right from the beginning, and I didn't want to put it down at all. I loved Nevada and her family, and Mad Rogan has quickly made it to the top of the list of my favorite heroes. This book had a little bit of everything: action, romance, humor. I'm already 60 percent of the way through book 2, so I am definitely continuing the series, lol.
