This was a really good story. There were so many emotions, fear, sadness, humor, love, craziness and just plain weird. I don't know what you would call someone who can talk to the dead and I don't think I would want to be in Odd's shoes because it's too much work trying to help so many people and also your love ones too.
It was a great story and I can't wait to see what's going to happen next.

Wow! It started out kind of slow for me and I thought it was going to be tough to stick to but as it got closer to the end, I couldn't put it down. Odd Thomas sees the dead. He also sees what he calls bodachs. They thrive off pain and death. When he sees a group of them hanging around a man he nick-named, "Fungus Man", he fears something big is going to happen and takes it upon himself to find out what.

I truly cared for Odd, and he and his girlfriend, Stormy are so great together. Only a small h

I loved this book. I love fiction that is fiction, that is not trying to be real, that showcases a great storyline developed by someone else's wonderful imagination. This book is that.

This book kept me guessing, laughing, gasping, squirming (view spoiler), and in the ending catching my breath, screaming NOOOOOOO!!!, it can't be, Koontz, how could you, NOOOOOO!! (but alas, yes, that's the way the story went.)

I know it's early on in the year, but I would tak

“I hate violence. I hate injustice even more. I just want to be a fry cook, but the world demands more from me than eggs and pancakes.” That sums up Odd Thomas in one sentence. He’s a short order cook who just happens to see dead people.

I’ve read Dean Koontz before and have to say I was disappointed in his writing style here. This book follows the typical genre fiction outline so if that’s your thing you should enjoy it. I found it hard to really get into and even the climax was half interestin

I liked Odd. It's not a book I ever thought I'd be reading, having read none of Dean Koontz's work even during my horror phase. But it's not a bad first book even though I hate that the (view spoiler) for no good reason. I also knew for sure that (view spoiler) would happen, because it's so depressingly cliche. However, because I liked Odd in a general sort of way, I'll continue this series at least for a couple more books befo ...more
