Wow, few chapters into this and I am impressed. This a GREAT first novel. If Lee Child is only going to get better, I want to be there!

Jack Reacher is smart, lethal, ruthless and cool in a James Bond way. Jack is disturbingly dangerous and almost without conscience. And I still found myself cheering for him.

Great twists in the book and romance is sweet, but not graphic.

First time I read this, back in 2009, I obviously loved it - but not enough to write a review! This time, I still loved it (although perhaps not quite so much as I've dropped a star), but thought I'd say a few words. Although what can one say about a book which has been reviewed over 10,000 times?

This was the first Lee Child book that I have read. I did not expect to like it as much as I did. The author writes beautifully, even though his books are filled with violence. His books are true page-turners and I have blazed through the first six in his Jack Reacher series in one month. His protaganist, Jack Reacher is an ex-military policeman who is a loner and wanderer. Great debut novel by Lee Child. Really enjoyed the characters, plot and location.

Enjoyed getting to know Jack Reacher a little and look forward to eventually reading the rest of the series !
