I feel very hesitant writing this review because nothing that the book did was really bad, or wrong, or anything. In fact, it was well written, carefully populated, and even satisfyingly concluded. Elizabeth and Darcy are clever and witty, as is the book itself. A few characters are people I've met in real life. It even takes place in the British countryside, which should have made it an automatic favorite.

One of my all time favorites. Most girls agree. No one writes like Austen of the Regency Era. The understated and reserved descriptions and emotions, leads a modern ready to read on with great anticipation toward the climax. Isn't it great when the female protagonist finally gets it all straightened out, and gets her man!!!

I loved this story. It is probably my favorite love story. I have all of Jane Austens works and plan to read more. Currently this is the only one I have read. I know lots of people don't like this because of the difficult language but I really enjoyed it.

I have been reading this on and off for about a year, due to exams and other things getting in the way. But thought it was about time I finished this Austen favourite. It takes a while to get used to the style of writing but even if it is a bit twee at times, the whole romance of the language and the tale whisks you away. The book truly lives up to expectations and is so beautifully constructed, forever one of my favourites!!!
