Christopher Moore is funny. He can tell the most absurd story in the world, but he does it in a way that makes it believable, even when it's about vampires, death, or large alien lizards.
This book focuses on the vampires. Jody wakes up one morning after being attacked with a burnt hand and no sense of how long she's been unconscious. After putting two and two together, she realizes she's been turned into a vampire. And her biggest concerns are getting her final paycheck and getting her car out ...more

Not as good as "Lamb," much better than "Practical Demonkeeping."
Moore's first in a two-book set about vampires. (Ok, Chris - he is getting better, or at least, I'm liking the topic for some reason.) The irreverence with which Moore takes on serious characters (Jesus, vampires, demons)is very appealing, if you like them all to be snarky, sarcastic and a little bit like your older brother's cool friends.

Jody wakes up after an attack under a dumpster with a burned hand. Welcome to being a vampire huh? She finds new to the city and rather naive Tommy to take care of her needs during the day (among other things). With interesting characters, a police investigation and really odd experiments to determine what is truth and fiction when it comes to vampirism, the book is a lot of fun. I look forward to the next in the series
