Great book. It was a wonderful window on the life of a regular girl living in a regular family in Chicago ... a girl who worked hard to make good grades and get into good schools, whose mother and father sacrificed everything to give her an her brother opportunities. She was warm about her misgivings about politics and how politics got in the way of her dream of having a normal family. I’m not much of a political person (and actually neither is Michelle) but I love biographies and this one didn’t disappoint. From a humble background Michelle credits her family and her education for much that she accomplished.
Fascinating to hear about her childhood in the South Side of Chicago and what life is really like in the White House! She truly worked tirelessly to give a voice to minorities and women especially.
