How is this most more relevant now, in 2025, than it was the first time I read it more than a decade ago? This is terrifying! And that's also why I loved the book even more now - that, and the book club discussion.
It made me question a lot of things, but especially what is humanity and what is happiness and our relationship with art. It also made me sad because I realised more and more of us are moving away from art or don't have this innate need for art and I cannot explain it or understand it. ...more

Im torn between giving this 3 or 5 stars. This book was just plain weird, but after finishing it, and thinking about it, I can see the point the author was trying to make. In a futuristic world people have let go of God in change for entrepreneurship. There is no guilt, because everything, I mean everything is good and encouraged (sex is a very overriding subject in this book, while there isn't a sex scene in it).
