This Sci-Fi/Dystopian book imagines a world that is very terrifying because it's a very probable one. But people like me and countless others are trying to not bring this version of future true. The future where people are lost in visual media converting entire walls to the TV covering the entire wall (reminds me of Barney's TV from HIMYM - Maybe show got the idea from this book). The most horrible thing is that the houses are fireproof so there are no fires so firemen are tasked with a new task This Sci-Fi/Dystopian book imagines a world that is very terrifying because it's a very probable one. Man, I would be first of the people to burn with my books if something like this happened but maybe I would be like a professor or writer quietly waiting to bring the books back to the world. The most wonderful thing about the book is that despite starting at a low point and traveling towards even a bleaker point it ends with a message of positivity and hope. I loved the book and hated the version of the future hated the people to turned their backs on the books and lost themselves in the giant size TV screens and the non-stop videos. Youtube on steroids anyone :P.

So yeah this was one classic which I wanted to read for longest of times and had even read the graphic novel adaptation of it but reading the original work is something else. So now after finding myself on a journey of classics and Goodreads top 100 books I am going back to Dresden Files Book 8 here I come.

So yeah it's a no-brainer pick this up if you haven't read it yet. If you have read it, read it again.

People who don't read generally ask me my reasons for reading. Simply put I just love reading and so to that end I have made it my motto to just Keep on Reading. I love to read everything except for Self Help books but even those once in a while. I read almost all the genre but YA, Fantasy, Biographies are the most. My favorite series is, of course, Harry Potter but then there are many more books that I just adore. I have bookcases filled with books which are waiting to be read so can't stay and spend more time in this review, so remember I loved reading this and love reading more, you should also read what you love and then just Keep on Reading. ...more

This one was quite tough to get through. I loved the philosophy at the end and the implication of the story, but there was a lot of stream-of-consciousness writing before I got to the good bits. I’m glad I read it, given its status as a classic and the current political climate, but it wasn’t one of my more enjoyable reads.
