My goal was to read The Count of Monte Cristo in December and I made it with 90 minutes to spare. December was much busier than I thought it would be and fell behind pace but rallied over last weekend. What helped me catch up was the fact that it was hard to put down. This is one of best novels I've ever read. Every bit the masterpiece it is advertised as! One of my all-time favorites.

If you are expecting the movie version when you pick up this book, then expect to be surprised. The real story is so different. It's a wonderful book full of wonders.

El mejor libro de aventuras que haya leído. A pesar de su extensión, es una lectura que atrapa. Mi personaje favorito, el Abate Faria, es un verdadero ejemplo de como el ser humano se puede sobreponer a las dificultades. Esta es una lectura obligada para cualquier amante de la literatura.
