What Members Thought

Tolstoy and I might differ on some opinions about education, women, or urbanization, but I have to give it to him in human psyche department. If you're scared of Anna Karenina, don't be. It's one of the easiest classics I've read, but it takes patience due to sheer volume. Tolstoy liked to talk, obviously, and sometimes he dragged out a topic for a few chapters too many, which made it an uneven narrative for me. While this book is painfully long, the plot is great. My least favorite part of the book was the ending, but only because I thought it went on for a chapter longer than necessary. Tolstoy's works are insightful, though, since he was actually a member of the Russian nobility, giving him an interesting perspective to look at the lives of Russian nobles. Overall, this is a great book, but it'll take time to read.
