I think my expectations were a little too high for this one.

The War of the Worlds was my first encounter with H.G. Wells, and I really hope I enjoy some of his other works more than this one. I think it was the POV that made it so difficult for me to get through and enjoy, because the narrator bored me to tears a few times.

I think I expected it to be more of a story about humans fighting against martians after an invasion (which was in the story, kind of), but it was more like a diary of one guy ...more

I listened to this via audio and tried to feel how people hearing it on the radio might have felt when it was aired. I could see how this story might make people panic buy toilet paper

I don’t think this author and I go well together. His way of writing these condensed stories don’t really agree with me even though the book isn’t bad.
