I liked it much better after I got used to the slang. I still think you can write a good book without it, it maybe makes it a little bit inacessible for some. Still I can see why it has become a classic.

Dieses Buch hat mich tief bewegt. Es spielt in einer Zukunft, in der kleine Banden die Strassen kontrollieren. Alex ist Kopf einer solchen Bande und dem Leser werden seine Taten in rascher Abfolge vor Augen geführt, die sich vom Zusammenschlagen wehrloser Opfer über Einbrüche, Vergewaltigung (auch von Kindern) bis zu Totschlag steigern. Alex landet im Gefängnis wo er vor die Wahl gestellt wird, entweder seine Haftstrafe bis zum Ende zu verbüssen oder an einem speziellen Programm teilzunehmen und ...more
