Shelves: science-fiction, audio, dystopian, 2017-read, author-ishiguro

I had high hopes for this book and was waiting for it to connect with me but it just never happened. This type of story, with it's melancholy tone and dystopian science fiction plot, is usually right in my wheelhouse. Not far in to the book I thought of the science fiction movie The Island , and my intuition about the basic plot was true, although the characters in the book and in the movie handle their situation in different ways.

Shelves: dystopian

As much as I loved this, I definitely will not read it again as I cannot see myself wanting to jump into that book and relive all the experiences. And thats the brilliant thing about this book, you just really really get into this world Kazuo Ishiguro has created, you can almost taste it. Its not exactly an original idea, but its done in such a different way.
