This was a wonderful glimpse into the life of a woman who is successful in her career, seems to like herself well enough, and yet still sees herself as a girl. Most of the story occurs in fashbacks to her middle school years when she had three friends who treated her terribly (much like many girls of that age). As a middle aged woman I have discovered that many of my childhood wounds still color my life today, so I loved this aspect of the book. I found it powerful and insightful. I do question ...more

Haunting book........I couldn't put it down and I believe I have read this twice........it was excellent .....set in Canada, this is a book that follows the main character from childhood through adulthood when she looks back on her childhood and figures it all out.

It was dead on about how small girls sometimes treat each other.

Got this book at a book sale and it took sometime before I finally got the chance to read it. And when I did, I just love it! :)

Children do have a cruelty of a very different kind.
