Figured I'd read this before I saw the BAM production this week starring Rose Byrne & Bobby Cannavale. Even though the play was written in 431 BC, apparently crazy murderous narcissists are a constant throughout time. I felt like I was reading a story in The New York Post. Immigrant mom goes on murderous rampage in retaliation to husband's new marriage!

For being an awful story there are some good lines. Basically Medea *is* the original hell-hath-no-fury-like-a-woman-scorned.

"I wish you happiness, but not here in this world. What is here your father took."

Even as Jason begs the gods to curse Medea she replies, "What heavenly power lends an ear To a breaker of oaths, a deceiver?"
