What Members Thought

Laura
I just watched to the movie which was based on this book: Miss Pettigrew Lives for a Day (2008)

According to Jeannette, I must read its printed version, thanks for the recommendation Jeannette.

From BBC Radio 4 Extra:
Maureen Lipman reads a touching and funny bestseller from the 1930s about an unmarried governess who is sent by her agency to the wrong booking.

What a fun, charming read! Like a screwball comedy of the 1930's in book form. Just the type of frothy, light-hearted story I needed right now. ...more

I enjoyed the book more than the movie, a fun, light read, a Cinderela story for the middle age, proving it is never too late to change your life. I am not sure why it is a 1001 book (to read before you die) though.
