What Members Thought
I had wanted to read the books for so long but somehow it was always left for later. I am talking about LOTR, I bought a used copy of 'The Hobbit' and it also stayed there without being read and that was true till now I started it and then finished it in one day. I liked the illustrations too but they weren't too clear in my copy as it was close to 30 years old now merely a few years less than me.

not quite as enchanting as the lord of the rings books have been--i think it's the more simplistic prose style that turned me off, leading me to fast discover that i actually /missed/ those lush, over-descriptive passages that are in LOTR. i miss that type of density, oddly enough. nonetheless, this was still an entertaining tale. gandalf is still as smarmy as ever, and the dwarves were fun sorts.

I didn't like the audio version of this book. I think I should have read it instead. It felt as though I was listening to the cartoon movie.
