What Members Thought

I don't know why I liked a story about a boy who will never grow up, so much. Wendy was annoying, Peter himself was a little weird but I still really liked it, it's a simple little story that I think is one of a kind.

Oh this edition looks so fun. Can't wait to read it.

Much closer to the play version than to Disney's animated version - which is good because Disney never really does fairy tales justice.
I'm a sucker for fairy tales, and I love the sly humor on the narrator's part. Peter himself was rather creepy at times, like when he tries to prevent Wendy from returning home, or when Wendy's afraid he'll forget about them and strand them over the ocean.

Actually less racist and sexist then I was expecting. I didn't really like it, but it's meant to appeal to little boys, so that isn't really surprising. The final chapter is seriously depressing. And I don't care what Barrie thinks, dogs do have souls.

Excellent book for both children and adults. Originally published in 1911 as *Peter and Wendy*, it depicts Peter Pan, "the boy who wouldn't grow up", as a mischievous half-human child, half-fairy who never had parents and who never remembers. His fairy companion Tinker Bell isn't as nice as depicted in Disney. More anon...
