Trying to get into this twisty, turny, meandering book.
The beginning was well written and funny (the convict)....now I am up to the eccentric Miss Haversham and mean Estella.
Haversham pays Joe to apprentice Pip...I don't know. Are these people insane?
I realize that Dickens wrote books in installments for his public and these books are sort of soap opera-ish in that we follow the adventures of a young man who is set on a course of being a gentleman, thanks to Miss Haversham? or thanks to the con ...more

WOW!! Why oh why don’t we read more classics?!!
I have made it a goal to read at least one a year. Not much I know but hopefully will beat that goal.
Charles Dickens is a great storyteller and gives you an intriguing ride. To think this was written in 1859 and would make a great discussion book. Yes it is a bit long, I read some and listened to a lot on audio.
Let’s all read a few more classics.
