I liked it, it was bad-ass, full of action and adventure. I really loved Max she's strong, dependable and she's a great leader. The story kind of remind me of X-men because they're like these half bird, half human mutants and they could fly and some of them has other abilities. Like Angel she could read minds, influence people through the mind and breathe under water. I think Iggy has a good ear but he's blind and he's good at opening locks. I thought this book was okay. I went into it knowing that it wasn't a typical Patterson novel. I read a few reviews where the readers weren't happy with the quality of the writing in this book. I think that these people need to keep in mind that this book and the rest in the series are targeting a teenage audience. I like the idea of this book. I love the idea of these 6 bird children. I'm disappointed that Patterson changed some of the characters from The Lake House. Oz was one of my favorite characters in The Lake House and I just had it in my head that he would come back somehow in one of the Maximum Ride books. But, Patterson replaced Oz with Fang in this book. Then, the twins aren't the twins anymore. Only Max and Igg remain from the original bird children. That's disappointing because I grew to love

This book was really original, interesting, and exciting! I couldn't put it down! Max was a very relatable character... well except for the whole mutant aspect...
