I AM NOT ALL TOGETHER SURE AS TO WHEN I READ THIS BOOK, I THINK I WAS SOMEWHERE BETWEEN 14 OR 15. THAT WAS BACK IN 1984 OR 85. BY THEN V.C ANDREWS HAD OUT HER SECOND SERIES,HEAVEN. BUT FROM THE FIRST PAGE OF "FLOWERS IN THE ATTIC" I COULD NOT PUT IT DOWN. HAD A HARD TIME WHEN CHRIS AND CATHY HAVE SEX, BUT LOVED IT WHEN CATHY SLAPS HER MOTHER. THAT WAS A LONG TIME COMING. I got into VC.andrews in 6th grade now im in 8th.
I have much respect for VC.andrews and her skillfully written book I feel she wrote this story with great details and emotion.
HOW I FEEL ABOUT THE STORY:
This story was sad....and intersting. I could say that this made me feel what was being displaying in the story. I loved it......it has alot of denial,drama,curiousity,and self searching going on with alot of the characters and the feel of loss and anger. It makes you feel grateful for the life y ...more

I read her 1st series(these); how horrible are the things that happened to the children! Yet, I couldn't put the book down, because I was hoping for a happy ending, I think...suspenseful, too, was another reason for not putting it down...

The first book I've ever read that made me cry. Probably the best book I've read. A very sad, heart wrenching, original book. I would recommend it to anyone who can handle harsh topics. a must-read.
