What Members Thought

An oddly light, funny and poignant psychological redemption story. If you like unusual, quirky characters like those in the novels of Anne Tyler or Frederick Backman, you may like this one. Some good characters in Eleanor and Raymond. Eleanor is a stodgy, judgmental prig who I came to enjoy. I think I'd find compassion for her even without the over the top traumas she suffered, which seem like a heavy-handed conceit in this type of novel.
