This book was underwhelming. I thought this would be a classic exploration where everything goes wrong but no. So, here we are with an average experience and nothing to tell, even worse it only made me feel bored.
For most part the book was just the ramblings of a dull person. Worst than that, an unreliable narrator than made it even worse because I couldn't believe a word what was being told. It was a terrible idea narrating this in first person, it blinds the place to a subjective point of view ...more

There were a lot of good passages with descriptions and prose, but overall there wasn't a main antagonist fueling the story. It was like a pizza cut into too many pieces and one slice wasn't enough. I'm curious how the movie adapts to this, but as a series, I'd have to respectfully back out.
