Sea of Shadows like all of Armstrong's novels has a strong, or should I say two strong, heroines at its centre, Moira and Ashyn are teenage twins faced with the task of protecting their village.

The book is split between the two sisters points of view and I think that with their contrasting characters at least one will appeal to most readers, whether it be the feisty Moira or the more mellow Ashyn. 4.5 Stars The action started immediately in this book. If we weren't hit with the plot moving forward it was with character building and world building, but for the most part it was all mixed in together. The lone part I didn't like was the romance aspect. It seemed trite in retrospect of what had happened to the twins to focus on relationship building and was too much like insta love in one twin's romance. The second is more slow building on a rapport that existed between two characters before. ...more
