Shelves: books-i-own, best-of-ya, best-of-fantasy, pentalogy

While the book was very good (as all of Chima's are), I felt it was her only book that didn't completely blow me away. Perhaps this was because of a somewhat deus ex machina ending, or because it didn't seem particularly believable that the Dragon Heir would just HAPPEN to stumble upon the little group of protagonists. Also, the whole story with the Dragon seemed to be glossed over, I'm still not entirely clear on what actually happened.

Some stuff were obvious from the start, but didn't stop me from wanting to know what happens til the end. Each character has their own story from Seph's lovelife and impossible responsibility; Maddie's problems with her family and her growing power. Jack's relationship with Ellen and his mother; Will and Fitch trying to fit in; Jason's lust for revenge; even Leesha developing a conscience. I really hated to see the series end. Luckily, there are two new book coming out. I cannot wait for a chance to get The Enchanter Heir!

In this installment, Chima brings together all of the characters for an epic battle.

There are:
Unexpected relationships
Old friends
An Epic battle
Many, many deaths (as sad as that is)
The same engaging writing style we have come to love

You must read the last book. There is so much that happens!
