The Bonfire of the Vanities is one of my book club's picks for September; a satire of the heady American society of the 1980s. I am very intrigued and have wanted to read more American literature since I read The Great Gatsby, so it seemed like an ideal choice! I am looking forward to hearing your thoughts.
