Margaret “Megs” Reading gets with child after her beau dies. She hastily marries Godric St. John, a reclusive widower. Unfortunately, she loses the child but continues to stay married — in name only. Now, two years later, she has come to London for an extended stay to Godric's mansion to get pregnant and avenge her late beau's death. What will Godric do? Will he help her or turn her away?

When I grow up, I want to write like Elizabeth Hoyt. Her prose is both lyrical and evocative but also precise and crisp. I went in with low expectations so I was pleasantly surprised. I read a few complaints about it yet I liked that they had both been in love before and not over it because it happens. You can love again. Just because you think someone's the live of your life doesn't mean you won't get another shot. Yes, she hangs on a smidge too long but I forgive her because she's younger than him and young people don't know what they don't know sometimes. She was funny and sweet. They both were in my opinion.

Hmmm.. I don't really know what to say. This book was just off for me. It was like the author wanted to try another writing style and decided this book was the one to do it. I neither liked it nor disliked it. It's nothing like her previous books i can say that for sure. This isn't really much of a review, but i truly do not know what to say....
