Sarah MacLean, I don't know how you will transcend such a masterpiece.
This was truly your best work yet. I couldn't get enough. I'm tempted to start it all over again.
Bluestocking Pippa Marbury is set to be married in a fortnight to a man that is... lacking to say the least. As a woman of logic, she is determined to quell her doubts of the unknown by conducting some research with a rather appropriate research partner.

This was about a 2.5 for me. I really liked the overall concept, but not the execution. I found this book to be slow-moving with a lot of repetition. What's weird about it though, is that there's so much going on, yet I felt like I was dutifully trudging along. I think it's because the "A" storyline takes so long to get going. You know they're going to be "research associates," so all of the hemming and hawing goes on a bit too long. Just get me to the main love story, dangit!

So many have raved about this book that I'm actually doubting my judgement, but it just didn't do the trick for me. The premise was like catnip for me - I love stories about intelligent but awkward bluestockings who find love. But on the whole, I found the execution uninspired and rather flat.
Pippa is the bluestocking in question. She ends up being a likeable character, but her nerd persona seemed like something out of Big Bang Theory. I just wasn't buying her constant references to experiments ...more

This is Sarah's 2nd book in her Rules of Scoundrels series. I totally love Sarah and her books and this is another great story form her.
I love that she made Lady Philippa Marbury, Pippa, odd, smart, and wore glasses! Being a lady with glasses my self, I was totally hooked.
From talking with Sarah and following her on her site I found it amazing how Cross's book wasn't supposed to be the next book in line, Temple was. He wasn't even suppose to ...more

Sarah MacLean is one of my favorite authors. For me, this story started a little slow but about quickly became the type of novel I expect from Ms. MacLean. In the end, it's earned a place on my keeper shelf.
