This was the third book I read by Ms. Hoyt. My favorite was the Raven Prince and I've been in search of another book as good. Unfortunately, this book was not a favorite. I did enjoy it and finished it and will probably continue with the series. (view spoiler) ...more

Another delightful read by Hoyt! I've been blessed to find this author as I find her work such a pleasure to read!

Hoyt isn't necessarily the most creative or compelling writer in terms of voice but she has a wonderful host of characters that you can't help but love and root for from the moment you meet them.

First, I want to say that I really liked this book. Interesting story, good conflict. However, it is surprising that so many readers listed this as their favorite HR of 2011. I guess I don't have a very strong pirate fantasy. Good book, just not outstanding. ...more
