To me, a five star book is one where I liked everything about the book, no complaints -- good characters, good story, good conflict, good resolution, interesting secondary characters, etc. This was a thorougly enjoyable book. A sweet, clever story, cute humor, unusual characters -- it had it all. I loved it.
3/2012 Update: Just re-read A Night to Surrender. It was just as good the second time. Funny, sweet, great dialogue. Tessa Dare has a special way of turning phrases. Loved it.

What can I say about this historical romance book? I read it because it was the September book of the month for my fans of Julia Quinn book group. Otherwise, I may never have thought to pick it up. It was an okay book, but there was not enough in the book to really distinguish it as anything more than a run-of-the-mill sort of romance book. This is my second trip to Spindle Cove and I must admit that Tessa Dare's story-line is both enthralling and superb. I started backwards I read the latest book out in this series not realizing that it was part of a series. I since have read the first and am now work on the novella between the first book and the second.

Okay, so I'm done reading this and I have to say that it is actually quite good.
I read A Week To Be Wicked (Colin's and Minerva's story) first, which is the second installation of this series, before reading this book. And I HAVE to say that Bram's and Susanna's story is slightly better. No, really.
I know many of you prefer Colin and Minerva's book but hey, I just happened to like this one better, well, just a tiny bit more. And yes, I would recommend you to read this book because it's funny, ...more

Welcome to Spindle Cove, where the ladies with delicate constitutions come for the sea air, and men in their prime are . . . nowhere to be found. Or are they? Spindle Cove is the destination of choice for certain types of well-bred young ladies: the painfully shy, young wives disenchanted with matrimony, and young girls too enchanted with the wrong men; it is a haven for those who live there. Victor Bramwell, the new Earl of Rycliff, knows he doesn’t belong here. So far as he can tell, there’s n
