I've given this an A+ for narration and B+ for story at AAR, which I suppose technically makes it 5 stars. I'll go with that, because the performance is utterly superb.

Kate Reading’s narration of Loretta Chase’s Lord of Scoundrelsis an audio triumph, an absolutely perfect meshing of one of the best historical romances with a nuanced and note-perfect performance by a highly talented narrator. “Wooden “heroine ! “less than intelligent “ hero !!
This book really wasn’t that bad .I was entertained many times .but why did I give it 2 stars only ?
Before I start I should warn u there are POSSIBLE SPOILERS

I don't usually read Loretta Chase, as I find her prose a little too flowery, but when I do, I never regret it. No (an incredible amount of misfortune meets Marcelline in an incredibly short amount of time). But it seemed to fit, and it moved the story and the relationship forward. I liked how Clevedon got interested in fashion ...more

I've read only two books from Loretta Chase before this, and that was Lord of Scoundrels and The Last Hellion. They belong to my all-time-faves shelf. Those were enough to make her one of my favorite authors of the genre so I was pretty excited to get this one. Unfortunately, this one didn't deliver to me, satisfaction-wise. The story and romance fell flat and I nudged on to continue this but even after I finished it, my feelings towards it didn't change. Even the well-written wit and character ...more

I don't like Loretta Chase's style... I don't know why it doesn't make me empathise with the characters.. This book made me sad because I realised that I won't read any LC books in the future
