Penelope Featherington has been overlooked her entire life. She’s been told that she’s not pretty enough, too plump, too nervous and too quiet. And yet, Penelope probably has the most personality out of all her heroines in this series. Penelope is hands down my favourite heroine! I love seeing her growth as a character in the previous ones leading up to her own book, Romancing Mr Bridgerton with her long-time crush, Colin.

It is about unrequited love. A pretty sweet story about friendship turning into something more. But what I love about Quinn is her humour. Funny easygoing characters (sometimes not really), but you've got to love her flow of dialogue. I was not a fan of romance. From the moment Colin Bridgerton first charmed, I was hooked. To be honest, I read two books between that first one and this one just to end up here. I feel strange saying that I wish there was a longer book about Colin. And Penelope. I love Penelope too. I've been waiting for her book too and I could have done with a longer book all about Penelope too. So, this book was like a drug. And I am certain that I'm in love with Colin Bridgerton. He is my fictional true love.

As usual, I loved this story. I am starting to think Julia Quinn can not write a bad story! This one has been hinted to in the previous stories and is about Penelope and Colin. It's a pretty standard plot, Colin comes back from being away an suddenly sees Penelope as a woman not as a neighbor and childhood friend. But there are aspects that make this an original an a great read. Definitely fits in with the others in the series! LOVE IT.
