This book was so cute! I look forward to reading the rest of the series!
Given how popular and highly rated this book is, I was disappointed. It was a bit slow for me and didn't keep my attention very well. It wasn't as humorous as I'd hoped either, maybe because the humor felt a little contrived and cutesy rather than taking me by surprise. The writing is not bad, but the voice and dialogue feel too modern, and there's a lot of telling rather than showing, especially using the same words over and over to describe the same things. Like many other reviewers, I had a p

Saw Netflix movie adaptation yesterday after first reading eight years ago. It follows fairly close to book.
I didn't like Daphne and Simon's scene and I don't think she meant total power over his wishes any more than he loved her and fought his feelings. By that point men do not like to do what he was using for birth control. An error was next possibility anyway as we grew up knowing "pulling out" is not effective birth control.

Just as incredible the fourth time around. :) If you have not had the pleasure of reading Julia Quinn's Bridgerton series, whether you're a fan of historical romance or not, you HAVE to give these books a shot. After Susan Elizabeth Phillip's Chicago Stars series, this is my favorite series of all time. Already finished book 2 and I'm on to book 3 (both for the fourth time as well...obsessed? No. In need of some happy and know right where to find it? Yes, yes, yes.)

i love this book so much
this is my first historical rommance i ever read, and i like it.
pertamanya pas baca resensi dibelakangnya tentang "pura2 pacaran" eh taunya malah keterusan sampe nikah.
tp yg bikin jatuh cinta adalah : tokoh wanitanya yang dibuat pintar, saudara2 yg tiap hari kerjanya berantem mulu tapi saling sayang and of course "simmon basset" si ganteng, pintar, tajir, dah gitu "duke" pula...hehe ...more

This was an entertaining book that held my attention from beginning to end. There was nothing original about the plot which trod a well worn path, but it was well written, amusing and emotionally engaging.
