He just came home from traveling the world. He was not prepared for the attention his new title brought to his personal life as ambitious, marriage-minded mothers flocked to his side to introduce their debutante daughters. Set not to marry and have children, Simon goes to Daphne and comes up with the idea of faking their interest in each other to keep women and men at bay. It actually worked. Until one of them fell in love...

When I started this book, I didn't really know what to expect. And then, after reading a few chapters, I felt glued to the pages. I’m thrilled to say that it left a big happy, satisfied smile on my face.

Daphne is such a strong heroine and a perfect match for Simon. I loved how she helped him see how he is a better person than his father. As for Simon, I admired him. Despite his past, he was able to become a better person. I loved how comfortable they were with each other from the beginning. Not exactly love at first sight, but something that develops into much more than what he should feel for his best friend's sister. With his past, it takes someone extraordinary to deal with a guy like Simon. Let's face it - he's got issues. But Daphne is the perfect woman for the job.

Julia Quinn sure knows how to use her words! And just as in her past works, the banter between these two is incredible. The dialogue between them is fun and witty, their relationship development is strong, and the chemistry between them is fabulous.

All in all, The Duke and I is a wonderful, engaging, emotional, utterly enjoyable, and unforgettable romance that you will surely enjoy. Definitely recommended for historical lovers. ...more

Loved, Loved this book! Quinn has captured my interest with the Bridgerton series. I highly recommend this book for historical romance fans.

I really enjoyed this book. I think this is one of her better books. I like Quinn's early writing a lot. I love most of the books in the Bridgerton series. I like the characters and the story. It is a good introduction to the series. ...more
