What Members Thought

The first half of this book bored me to tears & I was thinking i'd probably end up giving it a one star rating then half way through it started picking up so I then thought hmmmmm maybe a two star rating. By the end of the book (with tears in my eyes may i add) it has been kicked up to three stars. I am now looking forward to reading the next in the series because I refuse to believe Alex won't be in it! I love him!!!! He was by far my favourite character & the sacrifice he made was wonderful bu

The society in Delirium have taken the song, "Crazy little thing called Love" quite literally, and they have named it a disease to be eradicated. Now called, Deliria, everyone in the society is to undergo the treatment so you'll never have to be inflicted with the disease. And afterwards, everything will be fine - no pain, promised happiness, and controlled life.

I met Lauren Oliver at her signing event in Columbus, Ohio earlier this month and I have to say, she is a remarkable person whose "voice" is SO clear in her books. Lauren sounds, in person, just like her book read. She's funny, thought provoking and insightful. I loved every minute of her event, especially getting to hear her read from Delirium. I would like to believe that hearing the words from the mouth of their creator made Lena's voice that much clearer and real for me. If you ever get the

Alright, regulators, come and lock me up: I LOVED this book. Once again, this is a book where all the hype is definitely well-deserved.
Lena dreams of the day when she will be able to be cured from the amor deliria nervosa, when she will hopefully, finally be free of the whispers surrounding her family and her mother's death. She has prepared endlessly for her evaluation, hoping that she will receive a good score and therefore a good pairing. But something happens on the day of her evaluation tha ...more

Truthfully, I LOVED this book. In fact it only has a little competition for the number one spot on my most loved books of 2011. At the beginning of each chapter are these quotes that show you just how hard the government is trying to brainwash the people. Here are two... "The most dangerous sicknesses are those that make us believe we are well" -Proverbs 42, The book of Shhh or Ex rememdium salvae. "From the cure, salvation" -Printed on all American currency. Lena starts off as this very timid g
