When I first picked up this book I was not sure what to expect but from the first page I was hooked. It keep me laughing the whole way through. Zoey is a funny and refreshing character who grows on you. In the beginning of the book she gets Marked to become a Vampyre and join the House of Night. Not knowing what to think she joins making fast friends and even faster enemies. You learn about her Mark and how special she is and what comes along with this. Another book recommended to me by my fantasy book-loving sister, and I certainly wasn't disappointed. Written by mother and daughter team PC and Kristin cast, Marked is written in the first person, from the point of view of the main character, teenager Zoey... and it's obvious from the start that she is a teenager by the style of writing. On occasion, I did find some sentences a little unnecessary (the bits in brackets) which I felt had been added to emphasize her age. PC and Kristin write well
