Phury is my least favourite member of the Black Dagger Brotherhood. I do feel that his actions are noble, such as: Taking the vow of celibacy to strengthen his character to not be deterred from finding his twin (Zsadist) [although I do think it would make more sense if his vow of celibacy had more to do with Zsadist's confinement as a blood and sex slave], shooting off his lower leg to save both himself and Zsadist, shaving his head and scarring his face to look like Zsadist in order to imperson ...more

Sorry I know.. I am a little late to the BDB Party.

I did enjoy this book, but not as much as the rest of the series so far. There were to many subplot stories in this books, and Phury who always wants to be the hero and was punishing himself, for what happened to Z, was just way to whiny for me. This series just keeps getting better and better. The last 2 chapters gave me goose bumps.

That manifested itself as nothing. That would have been better. The wizard was just annoying. I guess the wizard was Phury's inner voice in a way though, but no.. That didn't work for

I have to admit that the first part of Lover Enshrined was really hard for me to get through. I kept getting distracted and wanting to read something else. In other words, I just didn't want to be in Phury's head! He is an addict! Since Ward is excellent at writing in the 3rd person, we get to see Phury at his worst and fall rock bottom before making that pivotal choice to seek help. His journey is raw and emotional as he deals with constantly feeling like a failure and fighting the demons...er, ...more
