What happens when all you think is bad things? Bad things happen right? Well, Lena thinks nothing but the worse, bringing the worse to her and Ethan. It forms for a great plot and drama in the book. Also, a lot of heart ache.
Ethan is struggling. Lena is in la la land and he just can't seem to bring her back. On top of all of that, he is now seeing weird things. Visions, if you will. He needs to tell her, but she is unstable. Ethan comes into the hands of a new trainee. A girl who is training to ...more

Where to begin, that just tells you How Great Beautiful Darkness was. Usually sequels lack some of the spirit the 1st book in the series had. Well not Beautiful Darkness, it surpassed Beautiful Creatures. I believe that Kami and Margaret put a enchanting spell on us when reading the book. I was super excited to read Beautiful Darkness. I have been waiting to read this book ever since I finished Beautiful Creatures, and it did not disappoint. From the moment I opened Beautiful Darkness and started reading, I was immersed in Ethan's world. Kami Garcia and Margaret Stohl are absolutely amazing to have written this book. I would give this book 3.5 stars if I could. I had a harder time getting into this book than the first. It took me the first 100 pages to really get interested. I felt that the beginning didn't flow very well. I also had a hard time with Lena's reactions/actions after Macon's death.
I really enjoy the plot of the series. However, I think that the writing style of the authors is what causes me to not love these books.

I absolutely loved this sequel to Beautiful Creatures. I also love that these books are from the male perspective, which you don't usually see. I could not put this book down.
