Πίστευα ότι διαβάζοντας αυτό το βιβλίο για δεύτερη φορά μπορεί και να βαριόμουν αλλά τελικά δεν ήταν καθόλου έτσι!Για ακόμη μια φορά με συνεπήρε και με έκανε να νιώσω τα ίδια έντονα συναισθήματα1Είμαι έτοιμη να συνεχίσω με τον Κουρδιστό πρίγκιπα και είμαι σίγουρη πως θα ενθουσιαστώ το ίδιο!

I gave 4 stars to this book. But still I can't believe because there were times when I really thought this book was not perfect; I'm not saying it was boring or lagging; but something was missing. Then somewhere I started to enjoy this book.
Cassandra Clare's writing style and the pictures she gave about the Victorian England was really amazing.
I like Jem's character.He is so calm and energetic. Love Will's annoying behavior and Tessa courage:-) And its really nice to know more about the Shadow ...more

Angels:
If your a fan of Ms. Clare's first trilogy than your going to love Clockwork as well. I have to admit, I was not particularly excited about this book, because I really wasn't ready to move on from the City of series and it's characters, but I really enjoyed this book. I am a convert, and the last page left me wanting more. Clare does it again in the Mortal Instruments' prequel Clockwork Angel. The language and dialogue was extremely witty, I found the VIctorian era suited this paranormal Angels:

I have to admit, I was not particularly excited about this book, because I really wasn't ready to move on from the City of series and it's characters, but I really enjoyed this book. I am a convert, and the last page left me wanting more. Clare does it again in the Mortal Instruments' prequel Clockwork Angel. The language and dialogue was extremely witty, I found the VIctorian era suited this paranormal world, and I loved the interaction of the characters. The scenes where everyone was having their meals were my favorite, they were funny, let you get to know the cast in a more intimate way, and created a sense of family. Our heroine Tessa is a far more fierce female lead than Clary. Tessa's character is a kin to Jo from Little Women, a very modern, well read, lower class hard working american, who knows life isn't easy but is willing to do what has to be done. Then there's Will, he appears to be just like Jace, but where Jace is the wild, contained, what you see is what you get, not wanting to be close to anyone, so as not to get hurt, Will is not what he seems. Will wants to appear the cad, wants everyone to think the worse of him, needs to keep everyone away, but I think he longs for the closeness he keeps away. Jem is a wildcard and the third wheel to what is sure to be a love triangle. He has an interesting past, with a compromised future, not my pick for the leading man but definitely has a shot. Then there's Jessie, the reluctant shadow hunter. I find her storyline the most intriguing, and kind of wish she had her own series, there is just so much potential there. I am also looking forward to a bigger role for the young master Lightwood.

Demons:
What I didn't like so much is a lack deviation from MI. I do think Clockwork had enough changes with the time period, industrial technology, and writing that it can stand apart, but I wish she could've changed it up even more. The formula of two female and two male teenage leads, was too much like MI. The overall premise of Tessa trying to save a family member, and getting help from the local Nephilim. And Will is a lot like Jace. I also hated Thomas' storyline, I'm not going to spoil it but he deserves better. I don't feel Clockwork is a carbon copy but I am hoping that the series will become drastically different from MI.

But don't let the demons steer you away from this book. Clockwork is a lot alike, but it's a lot of the stuff that made me and I am guessing you love Mortal Instruments. Clare's writing and structure is noticeably stronger. I think the obstacles and resolutions will be much more solid then in MI. And best of all the potential tie ins to the next set of MI books, and honestly greatness is well within the confines of the foundation built into Clockwork Angel, I personal cannot wait to see where the Infernal Devices goes next. I believe this is going to be a wonderful companion series.

Loved this like whoa!!

World Building: Amazing! Nothing beats a London setting, and the mix of elements here was just brilliant. Loved everything, the creatures, the magic, the steampunk elements, it was amazing.

Ho per prima cosa amato l'ambientazione, la Londra di quel periodo mi ha sempre affascinato ed è perfetta come sfondo per questo libro.
Ho già letto alcune recensioni molto molto negative, dove in primis si accusa la scrittrice di aver scritto una storia troppo simile alla sua prima saga. Nulla di più sbagliato e solo una lettura superficiale può far pensare questo. Paragoni Tessa/Clary, Will/Jace, Jem/Simon *___________ç

Nulla di più sbagliato e solo una lettura superficiale può far pensare questo. Paragoni Tessa/Clary, Will/Jace, Jem/Simon e addirittura Jessamine/Isabelle sono impossibili e oltrettutto senza senso.
Certo, abbiamo sempre come protagonista una ragazza che improvvisamente viene a scoprire di non essere una semplice umana, ma Tessa e Clary hanno un carattere diverso e si ritrovano a dover affrontare situazioni direi quasi opposte. Paradossalmente trovo più simili Tessa e Jace, in quanto si ritrovano tutti e due soli al mondo, senza sapere COSA siano e traditi dai loro stessi familiari.
Paragoni (inutili) a parte, passo alla recensione vera e propria.
Ho dato 4 stelle, ma ne merita almeno 4 e mezzo. I personaggi mi sono piaciuti, nel bene e nel male, tutti, anche se in 3/4 del libro avrei voluto prendere a calci alle gengive Jessamine!
Il fratello di Tessa, Nate, e Mortmain, mi puzzavano sin da subito ma MAI, MAI, MAI mi sarei aspettata il colpo di scena finale, con Nate leccapiedi di Mortmain, il VERO Magister.
Applauso con tanto di :adorissimo: per la Clare, questa donna è un GENIO e io la amo.
Ho pianto come una babbana per la storia di Jem ç______ç personaggio che adoro (ovviamente lui non morirà perchè IO ho deciso che avrà millemila bambini con Sophie, sono già in contatto con Cassie per stabilire tutti i particolari - i fiori al matrimonio saranno tutti color argento ù.ù)
Fiumi di lacrime anche quando è morto Thomas ç______ç e a tal proposito: cosa voleva dire a Will su Sophie?
Una delle domande rimaste senza risposta, perchè mai come in questo libro la Clare ci ha lasciato con tanti misteri e poche risposte. Di Will infatti si sa poco e nulla (tranne che il caratteraccio è un tratto dominante degli Herondale, per fortuna passa l'antipatia per i Lightwood XD) ma probabilmente è proprio questo a renderlo tanto affascinante, insieme ai suoi occhioni blu :sospiro: è impossibile non innamorarsene, Tessa ne è la dimostrazione vivente. Proprio riguardo a questo ci tengo a sottolineare la bravura della Clare per il modo in cui ha gestito un personaggio difficilissimo come Tessa. Ricordiamo che la storia è ambientata nell'800, è rendere credibili i pensieri di una ragazza di 16 anni di quell'epoca è già difficile, quasi impossibile se aggiungiamo il fatto che Tessa si ritrova ad affrontare il fatto di non essere del tutto umana.
La Clare però è riuscita a farlo, e in modo magistrale.
Quasi inutile specificare quanto mi sia piaciuto Magnus in questo libro *______* Probabilmente mi farò tatuare in fronte la parte in cui dice “Black hair and blue eyes are my favorite combination” ho avuto un breve, ma intenso momento da BM mentre urlavo "ALEX!"
Il personaggio di Camille è molto affascinante e spero di ritrovarla presto, ma per me Magnus appartiene ad Alex ù.ù #finemomentoBM
Last but non least, è necessario specificare che si è finalmente capito chi sarà il personaggio realmente fondamentale in tutte e due le saghe, il vero protagonista:
Church, l'unico e inimitabile.

E ora vado a contare quanti giorni mancano all'uscita del secondo libro. ...more
