Whilst this is the 6th book, it's the first one I've read of this series. And it left me with a cliffhanger! Luckily I've got the next one on hand, cause I'd heard about that.

It was slightly confusing (the world building behind the story, not the story itself) but the story carried the day.

Overall this book was good. I found it a little hard to get into in the beginning, but as I got further into the book I really began enjoying it. I found Pia to be a bit annoying the was that she kept making everything be about alex when Kristoff was right there in front of her. The ending really irritated me as well. I can't stand it when a book leaves you hanging like this one did. I may have to continue this series now just to find out what will happen to Pia next. ...more

Pretty good. I liked the setting of Iceland, though it didnt play a very big role in the story it was nice to see a different setting for a paranormal romance. Pia was good, though a bit too ditzy. The love triangle was a bit over-done, Alec is even ditzier than Pia by the end, which seemed a bit ridiculous for an oldish vampire.

This is really part 1 of 2 as the story continues in Crouching Vampire, Hidden Fang. Pia is an interesting character who has a great friend in Magda. Kristoff and Alec are the love interests and are very different. Kristoff being the brooding, bad guy while Alec is very open and good. The idea behind the Zorya was different and I enjoyed the interaction with the ghosts.
